Course Types

Australia offers the most rigorous protection for overseas students through the ESOS – Education Services for Overseas Students legislation. The legislation demands to the education institutes which receive overseas students to be in accordance to governmental parameters for the delivery of education, facilities and services to these students. This ensures the consistency of the education standards provided to Australian Students.

In order words, ESOS legislation ensures that, if an institution is unable to honor its commitments, the student will be replaced to another institution or be refunded. This education system is strictly monitored by the Australian Government.

 

C.R.I.C.O.S. Registration

C.R.I.C.O.S, which means Commonwealth Register of Institution and Courses for Overseas Students, is a mandatory register for any institution interested in receiving foreign students. All the courses offered by Hello Australia already have this register and is one of the responsible for the work authorization in Australia. Without it, the student may not have a Student Visa and be unable work legally.

 

Courses Organization

The educational system offered in Australia is extremely organized and subdivided into different educational policies. See below a diagram and what each of them means:

VET and TAFE: The Vocational Education and Training, and the Technical and Further Education prepare students to follow professional careers which do not require university degree. Each Australian state manages this kind of education individually. In other words, each state has follow it own regulation and investment policies.  However, this does not interfere in the certification and content, since all states must follow federal parameters. UNIVERSITY:  There are more than 40 universities in Australia and only 2 of them are private. The most interesting is that 17 of them are in the list of the best 100 universities in the world. This represents 42% of the universities in the country so; you can see that Australia is a great place for graduation.  Most of those universities are supported by the Government and monitored by independent agencies which run auditing in order to keep teaching quality. The courses follow an academic format which starts in January and July, with duration from three to six years, depending on the chosen area. The qualifying process is made through a curriculum analysis and student’s English level, since there are no exams. It’s required the TOEFL or the IETLS.
